The Wand®, a single tooth computer-assisted anesthesia system, is used to put the tooth to sleep. It ensures the best comfort for your child while in the dental chair.
Treatments can also be provided at St John of God when your child is put to sleep by an anaesthetist.
Besides check up, scale and clean, fluoride treatment, fillings and extractions, the following services can also be provided to your child if needed:
Fissure sealant: is one of the preventive treatments. It is a thin coating that covers the deep grooves of the teeth. This makes it easier to clean and prevent food from getting stuck into the grooves (i.e. fissures).
Space retainer: when the child looses her baby molars too early, a space retainer is needed to keep the space for the adult tooth underneath until it is ready to erupt. It has a ring that fits over the tooth right behind the gap, and a loop that leans against the tooth right in front of the gap.
Pulpotomy: is partial removal of the nerve of the baby molars, to keep them until they are ready to fall out.
Stainless steel crowns: are pre-made crowns that are cemented over the baby molars when they are heavily destroyed by decay, or over hypoplastic adult molars until they are ready to be crowned.
MYOBRACE®: a series of oral appliances together with oral exercises are used to correct your child’s non-functional oral soft tissue habits. This will encourage the best development for your child’s jaw bones and soft tissues of the face, minimizing the need for complicated ortho treatments later. Dr Kim Dang and Dr Sharon Chui are Myobrace certified providers.
MYOFUNCTIONAL ORTHODONTICS: the mouth is connected to the face and the rest of the body. Crooked teeth is just one of the underlying health problems that you are not aware of. Dr Kim Dang will also guide you to the other specialists for the best outcome of your child.
